About Us
OUR MISSION
M.O.A.R. is a community-focused nonprofit founded in October 2024 by Janet Guglielmi and Cindy Carrasquilla, committed to improving the lives of rescue animals in the Milford Animal Control Shelter.
Through collaborative efforts, fundraising, education, and compassionate care, we strive to ensure every animal in need receives the shelter, medical attention, and love they deserve.
By engaging volunteers in key areas such as event planning, animal care, outreach, and advocacy, we raise awareness, build support, and promote humane treatment.
Our goal is to empower volunteers, encourage lasting change, and unite our community in the shared mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming all of the animals that come through the shelter.
Founding Members
Janet Guglielmi
Janet has been a resident of Milford for 45 years. She has been the proud pet mama to 8 cats and 2 dogs. Realizing her life long love for animals, Janet wanted a way to give back to the homeless animals and the community.
Cindy Carasquilla
With over 15 years of dynamic experience in public relations, this seasoned communicator has a proven track record of crafting impactful communication strategies across diverse industries, including professional sports, entertainment, fast food, grocery, software and consumer packaged goods. She has led agency teams as well as worked internally in highly matrixed corporate environments.
As Senior Public Relations Manager at Subway (2011–2015), she spearheaded strategic PR campaigns and activations, enhancing brand visibility and shaping consumer perception on a global scale.
Cindy is currently on the board of the Children and Family Guidance Center
